Minty Mindy gets Silver Lids

This is Mindy and these are her new eye lids and lashes! 

Mindy is a Simply Peppermint Blythe! 

I thought she was very cute when I got her, but I just wanted to make a few changes! 

Specifically I wanted to change her eye lid color and lashes! I picked up some new lashes on Amazon - extra flashy - I could never wear them in real life myself! haha But Mindy can!

I removed the green paint from the lids with nail polish remover, BUT BE CAREFUL! The remover WILL mess up the eye balls. Then I sanded the lids, got rid of any dust, and painted them with silver acrylic paint! I let it dry and added the lashes with a straight pen.

 (I removed the stock set of lashes (below) with pliers ps)

Little Handmade Blythe Dresses

This weekend I went a little overboard making little dresses! :)

haha I just LOVE them! I'm (becky) still learning, Olivia is the pro!

Blythe Birthday Party!

Over at Oh Strumpets we threw Olivia a Blythe Birthday Party! 

The blythes went all out! 

Blythe size paper cakes by Samantha Eynon! So cute! 

Blythe cupcake toppers! These were all on Olivia's Blythe Pinterest board! 

Blythe size balloons (just normal balloons only half full)! 

Blythe size birthday hats made out of doilies and tissue paper!

Just cut tissue paper into strips and staple them together for a colorful backdrop! 

Use tooth picks and paper printed Blythes to make cupcake toppers! 

Make teeny tiny Blythe Size banners with printed letters and embroidery floss!

Simply Mango Gets a Face Up

I recently got a Simply Mango Blythe! She's precious! Her orange hair is just the best! 

She's a RBL, meaning she's a radiance mold. She came with a little chihuahua pup! 

I decided Ms. Mango (she has no name yet) need to have her face sanded asap! 

Because she is a RBL her head and scalp pop apart easy! Well sorta easy - it was pretty tricky for me, plus I was super nervous to break the plastic. She was my first gal I've ever popped around!

So I text my best blythe friend (Olivia) and got on youtube hahaha. 

 I was surprised at the lack of Blythe tutorials on youtube - the one I watched was helpful but not super.

I took apart the head with a phillips head screw diver - I used this tutorial.

I wanted to work with the face completely alone - so I told the eyes out too.

I sanded her have with 150 grit sand paper first and then a 220 grit sand paper, in an older post we mentioned you can't find these sand papers at your HomeDepot, so try a small local woodwork shop! Then I carved her mouth with special tools specifically for plastic. I'm new to all this so I did a basic smile. I used pastels to color her eyes, lips, and eye lid. While her eyes were out of her head I put in new eye lashes - some super long silly ones. And while I had her head open, I gave her sleepy eyes using this tutorial! Sleepy eyes is making it so your Blythe's eyes close by pulling a second string - we will be adding more detailed posts soon! Which would you like to see first- a sleepy eye post, carving? Let us know! So what to you think of Ms. Mango, her pretty matte face, and freckles?! I know it is very basic, but I'm taking baby steps! She still needs boggled eyes and a hair cut! I love these little creamsicles (here, here, and here) - they're what I want from Ms. Mango - so I have some work to do!

Blythe Valentine Dress

Charlotte is now set for Valentine's Day with her new dress and head band! I used this Pattern Here for her pretty Valentine dress and just made a quick matching head band! Her docs are from This Blythe Shop - aren't they perfect!?!

The head band is similar to the hair bows over at Oh Strumpets, only Blythe size!

I used a bit of ric-rac on the top of her dress and teeny tiny heart buttons!

She's set! 

Making doll clothes is a very tricky thing! So tiny!

Blythe Birthday Love

Oh Strumpets & Blythe Too would like to wish Amber Cox a very happy birthday! 

I (becky) found Blythe fascinating for the first time on a trip to see Amber, where I met Angie May (doll below) I NEVER knew their eyes changed! I was sold! I found Blythe amazing at that moment and then it snow balled hahaha!
